STITCHING PINK CHARITY SALES BRINGS CZK 114500
Stitching Pink project started in Summer 2005 and lasted till November 2005. This project was run by Mamma Help (the Czech Association of Breast Cancer Patients). The Association Members stitched along with their healthy friends, and contributions were received from unknown stitchers (even outside the Czech Republic).
A sale was held on December 1st & 2nd at Prague Shop Gallery Palace Rokoko. Mamma Help members were joined by actors: Veronika Freimanova, Jana Svandova, Andrea Cunderlikova, Josef Carda, Zdenek Zak, Klara Issa, Marta Issa, Kristina Madericova, Nela Bodova and Ljuba Krbova, and together they the stitched pictures (mostly Pink).
Christmas spirit and the support of famous personalities resulted in sale of CZK 40000. Other CZK 9500 resulted from sales at the offices of Hewlett-Packard s.r.o., and CZK 65000 were auctioned at sale of 3 big stitched pictures donated by company Jorik from Brno.
Gained money will be used to cover costs of Mamma Help Centers in Prague, Brno, Hradec Kralove and Prerov. These centers support and help women infected with breast cancer and their families. More details can be found on www.mammahelp.cz/en.
As the project was very successful, it was decided to continue in year 2006.
